Mayor Andrew J. Ginther salutes the Department of Recreation and Parks as well as parents and young people throughout Columbus, Ohio, for the high level of participation in summer youth engagement programs. These programs help to grow a healthy, safe community.
The Mayor is particularly pleased with the success of APPS - Applications for Purpose, Pride and Success - a new program in which Recreation and Parks personnel brought young people off the streets and into city youth recreation programs for fun and constructive activities. APPS had a participation number of 2,700 teenagers and young adults in its first year.
