Join the Central Ohio HIV Planning Alliance

The Central Ohio HIV Planning Alliance (COHPA) is an example of what’s possible when individuals and community agencies organize purposefully and effectively. Its mission? To improve quality of life and access to quality care for people living with or at risk of acquiring HIV/ AIDS. COHPA works to accomplish this through collaboration, accountability and communication, in accordance with its bylaws and operations manual.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is responsible for ensuring the requirements of the Planning Body are carried out by overseeing the process and progress of COHPA. Its members make recommendations to the full membership body.

POZ Initiative
As COHPA’s consumer advisory, the POZ Initiative aims to enhance the life of those living with HIV/AIDS through awareness, education and outreach. Members discuss community needs and present their recommendations to COHPA’s general membership.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee reviews data reports to make informed decisions on the prioritization and allocation of Ryan White funding. These recommendations are voted upon by COHPA members.

Needs Assessment Committee
This committee is responsible for collecting information about the needs of people living with HIV, in and out of care. It also identifies the current resources available to meet those needs and determines what gaps in care exist. Partners include Columbus TGA, Cleveland TGA and Ohio Department of Health Part B.

Membership Committee
To ensure proper representation from the community and partnering agencies, Membership Committee members are responsible for COHPA membership retention and recruitment.

Individuals who serve as COHPA committee members, in collaboration with the Ryan White HIV/AIDs Program, make a vital contribution to their communities by helping to strengthen and improve the service system for people living with HIV.
