The cart holds 64 gallons of recyclables in order to offer enough space for two week's worth of material. Carts have lids to keep out the rain and keep recyclables from becoming litter. The carts also have wheels to make it easy to move to the collection point. The city recommends carts be labeled with an address using a permanent marker in the white space provided on the lid of the cart.
The 64 gallon city issued blue cart will be the container accepted for collection. In order for recycling collection to be handled in an efficient manner, containers must be a uniform size. Residents may purchase an additional cart for $48.38 (this price includes tax, delivery and warranty) by submitting an order form(PDF, 150KB).
