The City of Columbus 911 Emergency Communications Center (ECC) is the primary public safety dispatch center for the City of Columbus. The ECC is staffed with roughly 39 Emergency Call Takers, 62 Emergency Dispatchers, 13 Emergency Communication Specialists, three Assistant Managers and one ECC Manager. The ECC handles roughly 1.5 million calls and text messages per year. The individuals of the Columbus 911 Emergency Communications Center are the first responders.
