About Columbus Public Health
Columbus Public Health protects the health and improves the lives of all residents through more than 50 diverse public health programs and critical services such as restaurant inspections, STI testing and treatment, women’s health and wellness services, newborn home visiting, immunizations, and more.
Together with our community partners, we are working to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, reduce disparities to achieve health equity, address the overdose epidemic, reduce infant deaths, prepare for and respond to emergencies, address the social determinants of health, and increase access to affordable health care.
Led by Health Commissioner Dr. Mysheika Roberts, Columbus Public Health is a nationally-accredited leader that identifies health priorities, mobilizes resources and ensures the conditions in which all residents can be healthy and safe.
Public Health Accreditation
Columbus Public Health became one of the first public health departments in the country to receive national accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).
