Our community is upping its ambition, and is committed to bold goals of 45% emissions reduction by 2030 to ensure Columbus is doing its fair share to combat global climate change. The 2050 goal is carbon neutral. This is part of the city's community roadmap to equity, health, and prosperity for all Columbus families. GreenSpot inspires, educates, and recognizes households, businesses, and community groups that adopt green practices. GreenSpot is a membership-based program that provides a framework to think about sustainability and a way to log your successes. It is free to join and there is no fee or cost. With 84 percent of youth around the world reporting that they are worried about climate change, Bloomberg Philanthropies launched the Youth Climate Action Fund to help empower the next generation of climate leaders! As a Bloomberg Sustainable City, Columbus has received funding for microgrants to youth-led organizations seeking to address climate change and its impacts on our community.
