Working with federal authorities and cybersecurity experts, the City of Columbus continues its investigation and response to a July cybersecurity incident.
Melissa Green has spent most of her career as a licensed social worker; and maintains practice-specializations in the areas of Addiction Services and Harm Reduction. Now as a councilmember, she’s serving as the first Licensed Social Worker on Columbus City Council. She will use her professional experiences to help inform decision-making in her roles as Chair of the Health, Human Services, and Equity committee, and Vice Chair of the Housing, Homelessness, & Building committee.
She has worked across the spectrum of our human services system, including in direct practice as a child & family therapist, in non-profit leadership, public health, and in behavioral health policy advocacy roles. She will vice-chair the Housing, Homelessness, & Building committee.
Green has a dual bachelor’s degree in communication and anthropology and a master’s degree in social work. She lives on the Hilltop with her partner Mike, who is a small business owner and Environmental Entrepreneur, and their three-year-old son, Miles: who are 4th and 5th generation Hilltop residents.
