One Health Intern Program

One Health is an effective approach to improving health outcomes at the human-animal-environment interface of zoonotic, infectious, and environmental disease control.

The Columbus Public Health One Health Intern Program incorporates experts in human health, environmental health, animal health, and other allied medical fields.

Internships include:

  • Remote and in person opportunities.
  • Reviewing current information and research on up to 200 diseases in an existing database.
  • Shadowing and training with Columbus Public Health programs in human health, environmental health, and animal health.
  • Developing and giving an in-person, or virtual, standardized PowerPoint presentation on one or more zoonotic, infectious, or environmental diseases to a public health and health care audience at the end of the internship.
