In an area with a known flea problem, you can avoid flea bites by applying an insect repellant with DEET. Products are available to treat pets as well as indoor and outdoor premises.
Pet and household flea products are available through veterinary offices, department stores, and pest control companies. Always follow label directions when using flea products.
