Land Redevelopment Applications
General Land Bank Policies
Standard policies have been removed from each application and placed into a
separate document. Before contacting our
office or applying for a property owned by the City of Columbus Land Bank
please read and review the City of Columbus General Land Bank Policies.
Applicants will be asked to acknowledge in their application(s) that they have
read and understood the information provided.
New Application Forms
The City of Columbus
Land Bank updated its applications for 2018 and it will no longer be accepting
old versions of the applications. The new applications are shorter, but include
addenda for additional information. The
applications may be submitted online or by dropping off a paper copy at our
office. A link is provided under each
property listing (upper right hand corner) to submit an application online and upload
the addenda.

1. Application to Purchase Land Bank Property for Renovation
and Addenda
To
purchase a Land Bank owned structure, including houses, multi-family buildings,
and commercial buildings, Applicants must submit the following:

VII: Information on prior code violations, foreclosures, tax delinquency*
- Addendum
VIII: Certificate of good standing, articles of incorporation or operating
agreement, and a resolution authorizing applicant to purchase property ( only
if the applicant is a business entity or nonprofit)*
*NOTE (For those Addenda with an
asterisk above) - If you have completed and received approval of an Application
for Renovation within the past year, you are only required to submit changes to
the Addenda from your prior application.
Staff will follow-up with additional questions.
2. Application to Purchase Land Bank Property for New Construction and
Addenda
Use this application to purchase a vacant
parcel to redevelop with new construction or other permanent improvements, such
as new houses, multi-family and commercial buildings, parking lots, expansion
of adjacent buildings, etc. Applicants
must submit the following:

Vacant Land Bank lots are available for
purchase by adjacent owners with an occupied structure who share a property
line. The price is the fair market value of the property as determined by the
Land Bank using comparable sales. Applicants who wish to reduce the price may
elect to participate in the Land Bank’s Improve to Own program where select property
improvements and sweat equity can receive credits to offset the asking price.
Applicants are required to submit the following application and its addenda:

applicant to purchase property
Individuals or community organizations may partner
with the Land Bank in order to use vacant lots for community gardening. The
annual license fee, only due if the application is approved, is $50 per parcel.
The annual renewal fee is only $10 per parcel. Applicants are required to
submit the application and its addena.

Nonrefundable Fees
As contained in the General Land Bank Policies, the City’s processing fee is
$195 per parcel. This fee is only due if the application is approved by the City
and is charged instead of an initial application fee. Upon completion of the
projects, applicants may request the release of deed restrictions by paying a
$95 fee per parcel.
