Javar Godfrey is a man of the people, a promoter of justice, and an advocate for social equality. He works tirelessly for the betterment of his community and exemplifies the spirit of giving.
In an effort to strengthen the community and empower the citizens within it, Javar has created several programs: Godfrey Athletics, a youth sports and activities organization that strives to instill in its participants ages 2 to 22 a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, a sense of community, and an appreciation for education. Javar is currently the Director of Community Relations for Focus Learning Academy. Javar is also the Director of Project Nurture, a charity organization which provides baby products for underprivileged teenage mothers and fathers. Javar also serves other outreach programs as a social worker, mediator, educator, and counselor.
Javar’s appreciation for the connection between athletics and academics began when he was a quarterback for Independence High School. He went on to play football at Kentucky State University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. In 2005, Javar also earned his Master’s of Science in Social Work Degree, with a Specialty in School Social Work, from the University of Louisville.
Javar resides in Columbus, OH with his two beautiful daughters and lovely wife, Kennetha Godfrey.
